Hi, I’m Caty.

You’ve landed on this page to find out who I am and if can I help you.  So let’s start by talking about you.

You’ve got a problem.

Something’s not going right in your life.  You could be at either end of the problem continuum: maybe you’re dealing with a nagging annoyance that you want to curb before it grows.  Maybe everything just hit the fan and you’re desperately trying salvage whatever bit of sanity or relationship you can.  Or maybe you just feel bad all the time and don’t know what to do about it.

I get it.  Now you’ve decided to take the leap and make changes.

Here’s where I come in.

I want you to find lasting change, and that calls for several ingredients: self-awareness; new ways of doing things; nervous system regulation; and relationship.  If you are a follower of Jesus, include faith in that list.

Many things that you’ll work on in therapy are simple, but they’re usually not easy.  I’m very comfortable diving into the hard stuff with you, and I’ll always work to take it at your pace. You ultimately get to decide how things are going to go in your life.  Most of the time, getting the future you want requires that you unravel your past.  That means all the pain and hurt gets to be redeemed, and that’s good news.

What kind of therapist do you want?

If you want someone who is ultra-professional and always serious, that’s not me.  I’m professional when I need to be, and I love to laugh and joke with my clients, too.  After all, playfulness is an important part of healing!  I’ll put you at ease and treat you with the dignity and respect you were created to have.

Now for the technical stuff.

I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor in Jackson, MS.  I have a physical office, and I also offer Telehealth for those located within the state of Mississippi.  I’ve worked in a clinical private practice setting since 2005, so know you’re getting someone with solid experience.  I am a Gottman Level 3 trained therapist, which is a method of marital therapy created by Drs. John and Julie Gottman.  Additionally, I have advanced training in eating disorder treatment as well as with complex trauma.  I love to integrate Christian theology into therapy.  I utilize polyvagal theory to help clients work with their bodies and nervous systems to increase resilience and regulate emotion.

Love feels as good coming in as it does going out.

My experience and education have prepared me to work with a number of issues, including:

A Chattanooga, TN, native, I enjoy singing, hiking, and traveling. I have been married since 2003, and I moved to Mississippi in 2009. I has worked in a private practice setting since 2005.
