Managing the Holidays with Therapy

Give Yourself the Gift of Watershed Counseling

Take advantage of your mental health benefits before the end
of the fiscal year to put a bow on this holiday season.

Are the Holidays a Stressful Time?

The holidays don’t always feel like the “most wonderful time of the year” for everyone. It’s emotionally difficult to join in the celebrations when you’re experiencing grief, illness, heartache, strained relationships, divorce, or difficult family dynamics of any kind. You may even feel guilty enjoying yourself during these times.

There are unspoken expectations we put on ourselves and others to respond in certain ways during the holiday season. Balancing the dance between joyful celebrations and a grieving heart can feel confusing to navigate.

It’s emotionally difficult to join in holiday celebrations when you’re experiencing grief, illness, heartache, strained relationships, divorce, or difficult family dynamics of any kind. Counseling from Watershed can help.

How Our Therapy Works

Therapy gives you the space to safely work through the whirl of thoughts and emotions. With the professional help of a therapist to come alongside you in your journey toward healing, you will begin to find moments of comfort and joy.

One of the greatest gifts you can give yourself is the gift of your own healing. The magic of the season will begin to sparkle for you again. The strength in your healing will be the gift that keeps on giving to everyone around you. It’s basically a one-stop-shop for all the people on your Christmas list.

Therapy is a great way to understand yourself in a deeper way, so you can better lead yourself through disappointments and heartaches. It offers a trained sounding board to help you uncover what your needs and expectations are and to better grasp why certain disappointments are harder to get over than others. Having a better understanding leads to healing in these areas which leads to greater fulfillment in life.

Take Advantage of Your Health Insurance Benefits and FSA

Most comprehensive health insurance plans provide some mental health benefits, including therapy sessions. At Watershed Counseling, all of our therapists are in-network providers for BlueCross BlueShield of Mississippi. Some of our therapists are providers for Mississippi’s Physicians Choice Network (MPCN) and First Choice Health Plan of Mississippi.

Counseling is also an eligible expense for reimbursement through your Flexible Spending Account (FSA), Health Savings Account (HSA), or Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA).

If your insurance deductible renews January 1st, or if you have available FSA funds, now is an even better time to make an appointment to see one of our therapists. Click here to make an appointment with one of our therapists.
