Anger is one of the most commonly felt emotions that most people feel on a regular basis yet not sure what to do with it or how to channel it constructively. Often people perceive anger as an unwanted, threatening emotion that needs to be suppressed or fought so it would not cause problems in their relationships. Criticism, stonewalling or passive aggressive behaviors can inflict long-lasting wounds on a marriage. After having worked with clients for many years now we have found that counseling for anger issues can be very effective in teaching clients how to “speak for” an angry part and how not speak “out of anger”. Learning more efficient communication skills can result in happier and more connected relationships.
