Christen Gates
MA, P-LPC
Christen is a Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselor with a heart for helping women navigate life’s challenges with courage, clarity, and hope. She specializes in supporting women who feel overwhelmed, unseen, or stuck in unhelpful cycles—whether they are walking through big life changes, wrestling with relationship stress, or carrying the weight of past hurts.
Additionally, she also offers counseling services for adolescents, young adults, parenting, and relationship issues.
Her Counseling Approach
Christen’s work is both person-centered and existential, meaning she focuses on what matters most to you in the present while also helping you explore the bigger picture of who you are and where you want to go. She offers a warm, nonjudgmental space where you can slow down, be heard, and reconnect with yourself.
Together, you will:
Explore your personal story, emotions, and beliefs
Uncover patterns and inner narratives that may be holding you back
Heal from the inside out
Move toward a more grounded, confident, and purposeful life
Christen’s blend of professional expertise, personal life experience, and compassionate presence creates a safe, encouraging space for growth. She walks alongside her clients, helping them discover resilience, reclaim joy, and feel free to show up fully in their relationships and in their own lives.

Her Journey to Counseling
Raised on a farm in North Mississippi, Christen’s childhood was filled with horses, 4H projects, and the quiet beauty of country life. She earned her first degree in Hospitality Management from the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) and spent years in the fast-paced restaurant industry, developing strong people skills and a love for connection.
Eventually, Christen stepped away from her career—devoting more than a decade to supporting her children and family as a stay-at-home mom. As her youngest prepared to start kindergarten, she felt a deep calling to help others heal. That led her to return to school and earn a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Colorado Christian University.
