Emily Hartman
MAC, NCC, P-LPC
Hi, I’m Emily.
If you’re here, something likely feels heavy. Maybe you’re tired of being the strong one, or you don’t feel strong enough for the challenges you’re facing. Maybe you’re navigating grief, transition, or a quiet anxiety you can’t quite name. Or maybe your marriage feels distant and lonely. You just don’t want to keep living this way.
That kind of heaviness often grows when we carry it alone:unseen, misunderstood, or unsure how to put words to what’s happening inside.
We’re made for connection with others, with ourselves, and with God. To know and be known is one of our deepest longings. Therapy offers a safe and steady space to slow down, tell the truth about your story, and gently explore both your beauty and your brokenness with compassion.
Healing usually means walking through pain rather than around it, but you don’t have to do that alone.
My Counseling Approach
My work is grounded in attachment-based and experiential therapy. I draw from Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), Gottman Method (Level 1), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and trauma-informed and somatic approaches. In our work together, we’ll pay attention not only to what you think, but to what you feel and even to what your body has been holding. As safety grows, new ways of responding and relating naturally begin to unfold.
I believe a relationship with God is an essential piece of living a wholehearted life; however, I respect where each person is in their beliefs and allow clients to decide whether they would like counseling to be faith-based.
Areas of Focus
I work with women and couples navigating:
Depression
Life Transitions and stress
Grief and loss
Marital & premarital counseling
Infertility
Perimenopause & menopause
Truama & complex Truama
Personal Growth
Because I’ve been a pastor’s wife, missionary, and coach to ministry wives for decades, I have a particular heart for helping women in ministry flourish.
About Me
I’ve been married to my best friend for almost 30 years. Together we have four adult children and eight grandchildren. I love traveling, hiking, gathering people around our table, and quiet moments with a book and tea.
